Butcher Covers do not
follow the general rule that a Beatles Mono album
on Capitol is more valuable
than its Stereo equivalent. This is because the initial
750,000 run of this
album was produced at a ratio of approximately 5:1 in favor of
Mono over Stereo.
In the summer of 1966, Mono still dominated Stereo
in the teen market.
Based upon production figures, a STEREO Second or Third State
Butcher
should be at least FIVE times scarcer than a Mono Butcher.
Here, we are pleased to
offer the very best
Third State STEREO (Peeled) Butcher Cover
we have ever acquired - an absolute splendid and flawless example
of the "peel process", graded at a Near Mint :

All edges are firm and
solid, with NO splits or tears. Spine is solid and legible.
Only minor "aging flaw" would be that the white area edge trim at the top
of the front cover above the slick has a bit of age yellow,
yet this is very faint and does
not detract at all.
The removal of a trunk
slick from the Scranton, PA. factory (which this Cover is)
is always a
fairly successful process, for Modern Album of New York
used a water-soluble
glue. The typical glue lines that are always evident
once a trunk slick is removed, ARE NOT present on this example.
The removal of the trunk slick was so perfect, that the Butcher Slick was left
perfect !!
A close-up image of this Cover displays this fact, showing dark, rich, bold textures
:

The Back Cover is
wonderful - clean
of ringwear or dirt with the only signs of age
is that typical faint thin line of yellowing on the edge of the mouth opening,
as
evident in the photo below :

The "peel process" was
so successful on this Cover,
that its original Trunk Slick remains intact, perfect -
and accompanies the Butcher Cover :

The matching East Coast
stereo record accompanies this Cover,
and grades a solid Near Mint Minus vinyl with Near Mint labels !!

This one's an absolute
beauty !
Once the Trunk Cover Slick was pasted over the Butcher Slick during
the recall process, the original Factory Shrinkwrap that sealed this LP
for distribution, remains intact from corner to corner.
The shrink was sliced neatly along the mouth when opened way back when !
Gorgeous, clean cover on both back and front.
No splits, No wear. Images are crisp !!
The images are so crisp,
not only is Ringo's black "V" clearly noticeable
through the Trunk paste over Slick, but his ENTIRE IMAGE is visible from the top
of his head down below his knees where his white smock hangs over :
There are four "Factory
breath holes" in this example : 2 on the front and two on the back.
Take notice of one of those "breath holes" in the shrink in the above
scan.
A most terrific aspect
about this particular Paste Over,
is that half of the top edge of the Butcher slick can be seen under the Trunk slick :
The back Cover is
beautiful and clean under the shrink as well,
with the typical, yet very minimal
edge yellowing along the mouth opening :
The matching West Coast
record accompanies the Cover,
and grades a stunning NEAR MINT MINUS vinyl with Near Mint labels !!

This Mono Second State
has to be one of the cleanest and brightest
we have acquired that does not remain in the Original Shrinkwrap :
The white tone
remains brilliant.
Gorgeous, clean cover on both back and front.
No splits, No wear. Images are fantastic !!
Ringo's black "V"
is clearly noticeable through the Trunk
paste over Slick. Also, his head and
face
stands out strongly, and below his knees
where his white smock hangs over :
The back Cover is
remains stunningly clean as well,
and the spine is the strongest
and most clearly legible we have seen :
The matching West Coast
record accompanies the Cover,
and grades a gorgeous NEAR MINT MINUS vinyl with Near Mint labels !!

You do not find these in
this condition !
This West Coast Mono Paste Over is gorgeous.
The cleanest of white covers on both back and front -
NO age yellowing at mouth
opening.
No splits, No ring-wear. Images are VIBRANT !!
The Trunk Cover is pasted over
perfectly square on this one.
What warrants the Near Mint Minus
grading is minimal balding
on three corners of the cover, and very slight wear
of the Trunk Cover
by Paul's face as seen in the above photo.
The front is so clean and tightly pressed, one can plainly see
RINGO'S ENTIRE BODY - from head to knees - under the Trunk Cover.
On most
Paste-Over Covers, only his black "V" sweater
impressionis visible. Not this one :
Back Cover is fantastic as well. Very clean :
