JUKEBOX COMPACT 33

With 5 Original Seeburg Jukebox Company title strips
& 3 Original Mini LP Cover Photo Inserts

During the sixties, Capitol issued stereo Compact 33 discs of some of the label's most
popular albums for jukebox play. These 7" records had a small center hole and played
at 331/3 RPM. These mini-albums were normally programmed with three songs from the
album on each side of the disc. The songs featured on the Compact 33 records were
often unavailable in the 45 singles format. The discs were housed in a cardboard jacket,
which had a miniature reproduction of the album cover on the
front and a blank white back side.

Capitol produced three Beatles Compact 33s starting with Meet The Beatles,
then The Beatles' Second Album and Something New being the final two.
All three were manufactured by Capitol's Scranton factory.

As these records were intended for jukebox play,
they are seldom found in respectable condition.
We offer here, a most wonderful example of the very first Beatles
Compact 33 Meet The Beatles, released in January 1964
at the time of the release of the LP Album.

The condition of the Cover is a terrific and solid Near Mint Minus
(borders on VG+++). The front gleams with its brilliant graphics, with some sporadic
surface wear, but not bad at all. The borders remain a shiny white.

The back side a remains dirt-free with a respectable white tone
with very faint and minor aging :

The Compact 33's were produced with the Capitol black labels,
the outer rim color band and the Capitol logo at the bottom.
The condition of the disc is stunning to say the least, graded at a TRUE
"AS NEW" UNPLAYED beauty ! The Labels as the images depict are stellar !

Accompanying the sleeve and record are the
Original Seeburg Jukebox Company five title strips
(one is separated from the strip), and its three
Original Mini LP Cover Photo Inserts,
all manufactured by the Star Title Strip Co. ::

Revised Publishing Credits "LIMITED" Spelled Out in Full

At the time the Beatles second Capitol single was issued,
Walter Hofer had yet to set up Maclen Music, Inc.
to handle the publishing for the Beatles songs in America.
Initial pressings of the disc list the British company
Northern Songs Music, Ltd. as the publisher for
both Can't Buy Me Love and You Can't Do That.

In Bruce Spizer's great book The Beatles Swan Song,
presented on page 265 is the previously undocumented discovery
of a West Coast revised label listing the publisher as Northern Songs Limited.

Offered here for the first time,
which has remained undocumented until now, is the
EAST COAST (Scranton, PA) revised Label with "LIMITED".

The condition of the Vinyl is a sensational and glimmering Near Mint Minus,
with shimmering grooves, and very minimal play time evident.
The Labels grade a beautiful and colorful Near Mint Minus as well.

VERY RARE WEST COAST VARIATION !!

Both East AND West Coast of this Sleeve have straight cut tops.
Yet, this RARER West Coast variation has a greenish tint (pink on the East Coast) that is visible on the faces and gives the blue backround an almost faded look. The left and right sides of the folded paper visible on
"The Inner Light" side (pictured above) are bowed outward at the bottom.
These West Coast issues are few and far between and have become quite a RARITY !!!

The sleeve on this title is always notorious for ringwear - but this particular WEST COAST example is quite a find in this condition !! It is a phenomenal NEAR MINT MINUS and displays very little wear and handling
as evident in the scans below.
