Originally in the collection of

Dezo Hoffman shot of the group in their gray collarless suits.

Parlophone logo,
and all of the important copyright information.
(The scan of this area does not really display the clarity of the print).

Fab 4 Collectibles acquired this one directly from the private collection of the

Movie posters of the 1960's that
were sent to theater owners were supposed to be
returned to the National Screen Service (the manufacturers of the posters) or
destroyed
after being used to promote the movie. Many times the items gathered dust in
theater
basements or were taken home by patrons or employees.
This particular example of an
original 1964 "A Hard Day's Night" movie poster
never saw the light of day of distribution !

Measuring 27" X 42", standard
one-sheet movie posters were sent to
theatres pre-folded. This beauty has remained folded since it's manufacturing,
and the permanent folds in this example are so very faint and hardly noticeable,
for it never had that wear over age to have been opened and closed numerous
times.

Furthermore, to preserve this
unique and pristine example,
we have had the
poster professionally preserved -
adhered to an acid-free woven linen backing.
This prevents
the poster from obtaining wrinkles, tears and truly relieved the faint
fold
marks more so.
Also, this linen backing is the best procedure
for having the poster framed, if
one wishes.

A two-part number was always
issued by the National Screen Service to
every movie in the United States. The number for A Hard Day's Night is
64/261.
The first number (64) is the year of release - 1964. The second number (261) is
the
unique number issued to a movie that year. Before we had the poster
preserved onto the linen backing, we photographed the area of the blank side of
the poster,
displaying the official stamp, dictating the authenticity of this one-sheet " 1

ORIGINAL CHRISTMAS 1965
"RUBBER SOUL"
IN STORE
PROMOTIONAL POSTER
ITEM # POS156
CONDITION : FACTORY STOCK - UNUSED
PRICE
:
$3,000
![]()
The 1965 Christmas season was a very special
time for Beatles fans.
While previous albums had been collections of great
performances,
Rubber Soul is best appreciated when
considered as an entire record -
one that set a new standard for the
Beatles and rock albums.
George Martin's reflections indicate that this
record's cohesive and
innovative nature was intentional.
"It was the first album to present a new,
growing Beatles to the world. For the first time we began to
think of albums as art on their own, as
complete entities."
Capitol had complete confidence that
Rubber Soul would be a
tremendous seller and had prepared a
promotional poster,
featuring a brown and white enlargement of the front
album cover.
The words "THE BEATLES" is in red, while the tease "12 BRAND NEW SONGS"
is in brown print.
In red print once again is "Never Before Available in the U.S.A".
The Capitol Logo is in brown print.

To "Capitolize" on the Christmas holiday spirit,
Capitol's in-store poster told consumers
that the album was
"GREAT FOR GIVING! OR JUST GROOVY LISTENING!"

This magnificent, very RARE poster, measures 22" X
34¼",
and this example is in stupendous LIKE NEW, Unused Factory Condition !
NO rips, No tears, No tape, No tack holes.
The graphics, clarity, and depth of this
1965 piece is just stunning !
The edges are straight, and the white areas remain bright and crisp.
Because these posters were shipped folded to
record stores as opposed
to rolled in tubes,
they exhibited crease marks (like one-sheet movie posters).
Yet, this particular poster was cared for and has been stored "rolled"
all these
many years.
Furthermore, to preserve this
unique and gorgeous example,
we have had the
poster professionally preserved -
adhered to an acid-free woven linen backing.
This prevents
the poster from obtaining wrinkles, tears and truly relieved the faint
fold
marks more so.
Also, this linen backing is the best procedure for
having the poster framed, if
one wishes.
The natural crease marks are very minimal and extremely faint -
as exhibited in our photos above. The folds are extremely clean.
There are no white lines or crease "holes" anywhere,
due to the proper "rolled" storage of this example.
FROM THE BEATLES' GOLDEN AGE OF THE SIXTIES,
THIS TREMENDOUS IN STORE POSTER
WOULD BE AN IMPORTANT ADDITION TO A BEATLES COLLECTION !
IT WOULD LOOK MAJESTIC MATTED & FRAMED !

"BUTCHER COVER"

$3,000

As we all know, the original cover to Yesterday And Today caused quite a stir when it made its limited appearance in June, 1966. It marked the first time that the Beatles judgment was severely and universally criticized. The controversial cover depicted the Beatles in white butcher smocks surrounded by slabs of meat and decapitated baby dolls. the facial expressions of the group fall somewhere between smirks and smiles.
Capitol proceeded with
the pressing, packaging and shipping of 750,000 copies of the albums to
its distributors. Advance copies were sent to the media. The response was
immediate and uniformly negative - and forced Capitol Records president
Alan Livingston to pull the plug on the Butcher.
A massive recall plan was quickly formulated and Capitol sales reps were
sent telegrams directing them to ship all copies of the album back to the
factories immediately. The "Trunk Cover" was to be the replacement image
for the LP - and the rest is history in the Collector's world.
Hence the First, Second, and Third State Butcher Covers were born.
Yet, what is more fascinating, Capitol
prepared in-store promotional posters
for the release of the album - and was the only promotional item ever
produced to promote this classic album . . . . . . WHICH ALSO HAD TO BE
RECALLED !!!

For photographic purposes, the
poster has been slid

ORIGINAL 1966
"REVOLVER"
IN STORE
PROMOTIONAL POSTER
ITEM # POS158
CONDITION : FACTORY STOCK - UNUSED
PRICE
:
$4,750
![]()
While the release of
Revolver coincided with the Beatles summer tour
of the United States, no songs from the album were performed, but the
album, of course, immediately went to # 1 despite the controversy
surrounding John Lennon's much publicized and
misconstrued comments on Christianity.
Although listeners are
drawn into Revolver by its unique sound images,
one should not ignore the brilliance of its songs. The Beatles were not
engaging
in studio wizardry to cover weaknesses; they were looking for new sounds
to
enhance their songs.
Capitol's version of
Revolver is nearly identical to the British album,
and was released on August 8, 1966. The only difference is that the
Capitol
LP has eleven songs rather than fourteen. The missing songs are the three
that Capitol had released previously on its Yesterday And Today
album.
Capitol prepared a stunning 25" X 32"
in-store poster to promote Revolver,
and we are proud to offer this sensational example here !

The poster features an illustration of the
album cover against a black
backround.
The Klaus Voormann cover design is further accentuated with
the word "BANG!" which appears in large yellow letters above the cover.

The album number and Capitol logo are in
white below the cover.
The lower white border of the poster has the word "including"
followed by
a drawing
of a yellow submarine
and the phrase "and Eleanor Rigby" :

Since the Revolver posters were
shipped rolled in tubes to
record stores,
there are no factory folds to them.
Furthermore, to
preserve this unique and stellar example,
we have had the
poster professionally preserved -
adhered to an acid-free woven linen backing.
This prevents
the poster from obtaining wrinkles, tears and truly brings out the
beauty of its original rolled state,
Also, this linen backing is the best
procedure for having the poster framed, if
one wishes.
The paper material utilized on the
REVOLVER posters was different than
the
regular flat paper stock on the RUBBER SOUL promo posters.
The REVOLVER posters were produced on a
"glossy" stock and radiates a beautiful sheen !
Considered to be one of the rarest
of all in-store promotional Beatles items, this one is in gorgeous
LIKE NEW, factory stock, unused condition. The whites are clean and
crisp,
and all edges of the poster are sharp without bends or tears.
The graphics are astounding, to say the least !
This Revolver Promotional Poster is the finest example known
to exist.

1970 APPLE RECORDS
" HEY JUDE " LP
PROMOTIONAL COUNTER DISPLAY
ITEM # POS162
CONDITION : FACTORY STOCK - UNUSED
PRICE
:
$1,200
![]()
Released on February 26, 1970
between Abbey Road and the final LP Let It Be,
the concept behind this "new" Beatles album was simple.
Take ten songs that had never appeared before on a
Capitol Beatles Album and let nature take its course.
While the first three Beatles albums released on the Apple label
in America were identical to the British records,
HEY JUDE (originally titled The Beatles Again ) was a
throwback to
the Capitol albums of the sixties. It is a uniquely configured album designed
especially for the American market. The album is similar to Yesterday And
Today
in that it is a collection of songs from several different sources, but
unlike the 1966 album, it offered nothing new at the time of its release.
Although not a greatest hits collection, the album is full of terrific songs,
including three number one hits.
An easel-back cardboard counter
display was prepared to promote the new record.
Measuring 12" X 16", this example of the very rare display is in Near Mint
UNUSED, FACTORY STOCK CONDITION. It remains flat and unfolded to this day :

It features an oversized color
image of the front cover with
" THE BEATLES l
HEY JUDE " , the songs titles and "STEREO" appearing
in white upper case case letters in a black rectangle above the cover photo.

For ultimate preservation, we had
this great piece professionally framed in
classy, thick black wood, matted in an ivory tone -
and then accentuated with a vibrant blue backround.
Overall dimensions finish up at 26½" X 29¾" :
