  DESCRIPTION

VEE-JAY PREPARED NEW COVERS FOR THE REVAMPED VERSION TWO ALBUM (RELEASED ONE MONTH AFTER VERSION ONE ON FEBRUARY 10, 1964), WHICH IS SOMETIMES REFERRED TO AS THE "PLEASE, PLEASE ME" OR THE "ASK ME WHY"  VERSION. THE FRONT COVER OF THE ALBUM IS THE SAME AS THE VERSION ONE COVER BUT WITHOUT "PRINTED IN U.S.A." IN THE LOWER LEFT OF THE FRONT COVER. THE BACK COVER IS IDENTICAL TO THE TITLES ON BACK VARIATION OF VERSION ONE, EXCEPT FOR THE SUBSTITUTION OF THE TITLES OF THE TWO SONGS THAT REPLACED "LOVE ME DO" AND "P.S. I LOVE YOU".

PROUDLY OFFERED HERE IS A MOST MAGNIFICENT FIRST VARIATION VERSION TWO STEREO COVER, WHICH HAS A WHITE BANNER AT THE THE TOP OF THE FRONT COVER WITH "STEREOPHONIC" CENTERED IN GREY AND THE NUMBER "SR1062" IN BLACK IN THE UPPER RIGHT HAND CORNER. THIS COVER VARIATION NORMALLY IS FOUND WITH "PLEASE, PLEASE ME" (WITH COMMA) ON THE BACK COVER. THIS FACTOR IS INDEED FOUND ON THIS EXAMPLE.

THE CONDITION OF THIS STUNNING AND BRIGHT COVER IS A MAJESTIC, SUPERLATIVE AND VIBRANT NEAR MINT MINUS. IT TRULY IS A MOST BEAUTIFUL EXAMPLE. NO RINGWEAR, NO RECORD IMPRESSION. NO SIGN OF WEAR AT ALL, AND ALL FOUR CORNERS ARE SHARP. THE ' VERY END TIPS ' HAVE A TINY BIT OF WEAR, BUT VERY MINIMAL.

THE FRONT COVER IMAGE IS BOLD, RICH WITH DEEP COLORS. EVERY SEAM IS FIRM AND THE SPINE SOLID WITH THE PRINT VISIBLE AND LEGIBLE THROUGHOUT. THE BACK COVER IS EXTREMELY CLEAN REMAINS A BRIGHT WHITE TONE. PREVENTING THIS COVER FROM A TRUE NEAR MINT STATUS IS SOME LIGHT AND MINIMAL MELLOWING ALONG THE EDGE OF THE MOUTH OPENING ON THE BACK COVER.

THE ORIGINAL ACCOMPANYING VERSION TWO STEREO RECORD FEATURES THE LABEL VARIATION WITH THE COLORBAND AND BRACKETS LOGO
(VJ1062(2).SR2A SPIZER). IT HAS "INTRODUCING THE BEATLES" CENTERED TITLES AND CREDITS, INCLUDING THE COMPOSER CREDITS 'COFFIN-KING" TYPO, AND "MICROGROOVE" AND "LONG PLAYING" ON THE LABEL. "STEREO" APPEARS AT 12 O'CLOCK. ITS TRAIL OFF AREAS HAVE THE HAND ETCHED INITIALS "URJ" AND THE DATE 1-24-64 ON BOTH SIDES AND MATRIX NUMBER "S-63-3402-1" ON SIDE 1 AND  "S-63-3403-1" ON SIDE 2. THE MACHINE STAMPED AUDIO MATRIX AND 'ARP" LOGOS ALSO APPEAR ON BOTH SIDES. THE RECORD WAS MANUFACTURED NY ARP. THE CONDITION OF THIS RECORD IS A STUNNING AND SHIMMERING NEAR MINT. THE LABELS ARE A BEAUTIFUL AND GLOSSY NEAR MINT MINUS. THIS IS TRULY A BEAUTIFUL EXAMPLE OF A STEREO VERSION TWO DISC,

ACCOMPANIED BY THE ORIGINAL VEE-JAY "AD BACK" INNER DUST SLEEVE IN NEAR MINT MINUS CONDITION, WITH SOME TAPE EVIDENT ON ONE EDGE. NO OTHER SPLITS.

UNDOUBTEDLY, THIS IS ONE THE VERY BEST EXAMPLE THAT WE HAVE EVER ACQUIRED FOR THIS STEREO VERSION TWO ISSUE VARIATION, AND WOULD BE A MOST RESPECTABLE ADDITION TO THE SERIOUS BEATLES RECORD COLLECTION.
