HERE WE OFFER AN ORIGINAL AND VERY HISTORIC EARLY VERSION 1962 UK PARLOPHONE RECORDS "LOVE ME DO" RED LABEL ISSUE OF THIS FIRST TRUE BEATLES DEBUT 45 SINGLE IN FABULOUS NEAR MINT CONDITION. ONE RARELY EVER SEES A TRUE NEAR MINT EXAMPLE OF THIS 1962 EARLY ISSUE UK RED LABEL / SILVER PRINT 45 FOR THEIR CLASSIC FIRST EVER CHARTED HIT, "LOVE ME DO"  b/w  "P.S. I LOVE YOU"' (PARLOPHONE 45R-4949). RELEASED ON OCTOBER 5, 1962. THE A-SIDE REACHED AS HIGH AS NUMBER 17 ON THE BRITISH CHARTS.

THIS IS AN OCTOBER 1962 PRESSING THAT BASED ON THE PLACEMENT OF THE PUBLISHING CREDITS PRINT ON THE LABEL, IS IDENTIFIED AS VARIATION TWO IN THE BRUCE SPIZER AND FRANK DANIELS' FANTASTIC 2011 BOOK "BEATLES FOR SALE ON PARLOPHONE RECORDS". THIS SECOND BATCH OF LABELS (01A(ii), SPIZER & DANIELS) HAVE THE ARDMORE & BEECHWOOD PUBLISHING CREDIT LEFT-ALIGNED WITH THE MATRIX NUMBER SO THAT THE "B" IS ABOVE THE "7" IN THE MATRIX NUMBER PREFIX 7XCE. THE FIRST "R" IN "RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHED 1962" IS BELOW AND BETWEEN THE "X" AND "C" IN THE MATRIX NUMBER.

THIS OCTOBER 1962 VERY EARLY EXAMPLE IS STILL CONSIDERED A FIRST PRESSING (WITH SECOND LABEL VARIATION). KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS IS THE VERY FIRST TRUE BEATLES RECORD WITH THE ENTIRE RECORD COMPOSED, PERFORMED AND CREDITED TO THE BEATLES (WITH RINGO ON DRUMS. SESSION DRUMMER ANDY WHITE IS ON THE TRACK FOR THE "PLEASE PLEASE ME" LP ALBUM).

THE VINYL ON THIS HISTORIC RECORD IS AN ASTONISHING NEAR MINT WITH A SHIMMERING DEEP GLOSS SHEEN AND THE LABELS ARE ALSO A STUPENDOUS NEAR MINT, WITH BRILLIANT AND BRIGHT DEEP RED LABELS. IT IS CLEARLY OBVIOUS THAT THIS RECORD HAS SEEN ONE OR TWO PLAYS THEN STORED AWAY. THIS IS TRULY A REMARKABLE EXAMPLE, ONE THAT RARELY SURFACES SO CLEAN WITH A FRESH APPEARANCE FOR THIS TITLE.

THIS DISC HAS THE FOLLOWING TRAIL OFF STAMPINGS: SIDE ONE, "7XCE 17144-1N" AND "7XCE 17145-1N" ON SIDE TWO. THE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION IN THE TRAIL OFF IS, SIDE ONE: " ZT " AND " T ".  SIDE TWO: "ZT1" AND "H".

THE DISC IS ACCOMPANIED BY ITS ORIGINAL AND CORRECT PERIOD PARLOPHONE "BEACH STRIPED" EMI GENERIC SLEEVE THAT LOOKS STUNNING WITH THE RECORD. IT IS IN VG++ CONDITION WITH NO SPLITS ON THE SLEEVE.
