  DESCRIPTION
(ACTUAL IMAGES)

ALTHOUGH ABBEY ROAD  WAS NOT THE LAST ALBUM OF NEW SONGS RELEASED BY THE BEATLES, IT WAS THE LAST ALBUM RECORDED BY THE GROUP. THE RECORD WAS ISSUED BY PARLOPHONE AS APPLE PCS 7088 ON SEPTEMBER 26, 1969. THE LP WAS THE FIRST BEATLES ALBUM SOLD IN THE U.K. ONLY IN THE STEREO FORMAT. THE ALBUM THAT WOULD EVOLVE INTO ABBEY ROAD  STARTED AS A CONTINUATION OF THE "GET BACK" SESSIONS, INCORPORATING SOME OF THE SONGS REHEARSED AT TWICKENHAM FILM STUDIOS AND THE BEATLES' OWN NEW SAVILLE ROW APPLE STUDIO.

This IMMACULATE ORIGINAL BRITISH VERY FIRST pressing dates FROM September 1969 WITH the dark green Apple, AND The side 2 label omits the title "Her Majesty" from its track-listing. THE LABELS ALSO HAVE THE  "33⅓" DESIGNATION PRINT VARIATION ALIGNED TO THE LEFT. THE RECORD IS Housed in THE fully laminated 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed cover. THIS COVER IS THE CORRECTED VARIATION WITH THE APPLE LOGO SHIFTED RIGHT DIRECTLY UNDER THE SIDE 1 TRACK-LISTING ON TE REAR PANEL. THE ALTERNATE FIRST COVER HAS Apple LOGO 'LEFT misaligned' beneath the side 1 track-listing on the rear panel.

THE Cover IS A MAGNIFICENT MINT MINUS, a STRONG and STELLAR example.  PROPERLY StorED inside a plastic cover OVER THESE MANY YEARS has preserved the high-gloss laminate which shines "as new'" both front and rear. This COVER really could have left the RECORD shops yesterday. It's only blemish is a MINISCULE bend in the upper right corner. If it wasn't for THIS MINOR ISSUE, this would be a miraculous MINT. ALL FOUR corners are sharp and both opening edges are sharp  and unworn. Needless to say, both seams and the spine are all smooth and fully intact AND WORDED.

THE CONDITION OF THE Labels ARE A BEAUTIFUL MINT MINUS  AND ARE A superb clean AND bright set with a touch of wear to the side 1 centER hole but NO spindle marks on either label. THE VINYL IS A GLORIOUS MINT MINUS AS WELL, WITH FactORY-fresh, deep-gloss playing surfaces which are "as new" with noTHING more than a couple of barely viSIBLE marks fROM the inner-sleeve and a sparkling rainbow shine beneath halogen light. THIS RECORD IS A TRUE gem. THE Matrix numbers ARE "YEX 749-2" AND "YEX '750-1". THE Stamper codes ARE "7/GPT" AND "1/P'".

THE SET IS ACCOMPANIED BY THE NEAR MINT ORIGINAL 1969 EMI PROTECTIVE GENERIC WHITE INNER DUST SLEEVE WITH THE PATENT NUMBER '1,125,555'  INFORMATION AND "MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN" PRINT AT THE BOTTOM EDGE. THE SLEEVE  IS Clean AND white with a few gentle storage wrinkles but no writing, tears or seam splits.

ONE WILL NOT will not find a better example OF THIS RARITY..... THE U.K. FIRST PRESSING OF "ABBEY ROAD" - THE LAST STUDIO ALBUM OF THE BEATLES.
