The BEATLES SEVENTH ALBUM FOR EMI'S PARLOPHONE LABEL IS CONSIDERED BY MANY FANS AND CRITICS TO BE THE GROUP'S FINEST. RELEASED IN ENGLAND ON AUGUST 5, 1966, A WEEK BEFORE THE START OF THE GROUP'S THIRD AND FINAL TOUR OF NORTH AMERICA, REVOLVER  FULLY LIVED UP TO THE HIGH EXPECTATIONS GENERATED BY THE PRIOR BEATLES SINGLE, PAPERBACK WRITER, AND THE GROUP'S PRECEDING LP, RUBBER SOUL. WHILE RUBBER SOUL IS REMEMBERED AS A COHESIVE COLLECTION OF GREAT SONGS, REVOLVER'S MOST STRIKING FEATURE IS ITS SOUND.

FAB 4 COLLECTIBLES IS PROUD TO OFFER FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION THE VERY RARE FIRST INITIAL STEREO PRESSING OF REVOLVER WHICH IS INDICATED WITH THE FIRST INITIAL STEREO LABELS THAT FEATURE THE SONG TITLE  DOCTOR ROBERT  MISTAKENLY PRINTED AS THE ABBREVIATED TITLE "DR. ROBERT".  IT IS KNOWN THAT ONLY A FEW THOUSAND COPIES OF THIS FIRST VARIATION LABEL WERE RELEASED PRIOR TO THE CORRECTION TO THE LABELS WITH  DOCTOR ROBERT.

THIS ORIGINAL INITIAL STEREO PRESSING HAS THE BLACK AND YELLOW PARLOPHONE LABELS WITH GRAMOPHONE PERIMETER PRINT AND "SOLD IN U.K.". THE SONG TITLES ARE FOLLOWED BY THE SONGWRITER'S CREDIT AND THE NAME OF THE LEAD SINGER IN THAT ORDER. THE MATRIX NUMBERS ARE: "YEX 605-1" ON SIDE 1 AND "YEX 606-1" ON SIDE TWO. THE STAMPER CODES ARE: "1, 2 /  RH" ON SIDE ONE AND  "1 / RH" ON SIDE TWO. THE RECORD IS IN STUNNING NEAR MINT CONDITION, AND TRULY APPEARS UNPLAYED. THE VINYL DISPLAYS CLEAN AND UNWORN PLAYING SURFACES SHOWING SOME WISPY PAPER HAIRLINES FROM THE INNER-SLEEVE DIRECTLY BENEATH HALOGEN LIGHT BUT NO SCUFFS, SCRATCHES OR OTHER SUCH SIGNIFICANT WEAR.  BOTH NEAR MINT LABELS ARE ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESS AND RADIANT. THE RAISED  'KT' purchase tax code is present around the side 1 centER hole.

THE FIRST ISSUED COVER IS MANUFACTURED BY 'GARROD & LOFTHOUSE LTD.'  WITH THE "STEREO" DESIGNATION PRINT IN THE UPPER RIGHT CORNER ON THE FRONT, AND ALSO HAS  "PCS 7009" IN THE UPPER RIGHT CORNER ON THE BACK.  THE MONO CODE NUMBER FOR THIS TITLE "PMC 7009" IS ALSO PRINTED ON THE BACK ON THE RIGHT BOTTOM EDGE. THE COVER IS A WONDERFULLY CLEAN AND STRONG NEAR MINT MINUS EXAMPLE WITH A PERFECTLY WHITE FRONT PANEL BEARING NO 'THUMBNAIL' OR SPINE WRINKLES. THERE IS A SMALL PUSH TO THE UPPER LEFT AND BOTTOM LEFT CORNERS BUT ALL OTHERS AND THE OPENING EDGES ARE TOTALLY UNWORN. THE REAR PANEL IS CLEAN & UNWORN WITH NO RINGWEAR OR ANY OTHER BLEMISHES. ALL FLIP-BACKS, BOTH SEAMS AND THE fully worded spine ARE IN SOLID CONDITION.

THIS SET IS COMPLETE WITH ITS ORIGINAL 1966 WHITE BACKGROUND INNER DUST SLEEVE FEATURING IMAGES OF ALBUMS AVAILABLE ON EMI LABELS. THE SLEEVE IS IN NEAR MINT MINUS CONDITION, DISPLAYING MINOR STORAGE CREASING ONLY.

BRITISH STEREO PRESSINGS ARE MUCH RARER THAN MONO, FOR RECORD COMPANIES IN THE UNITED KINGDOM PRESSED RECORDS ON THEIR DEMAND. THE MARKET FOR STEREO POP RECORDS WERE COMPARATIVELY MINIMAL AS TO MONO AND THESE EARLY STEREO PRESSINGS ARE SOME OF THE RAREST BEATLES RECORDS YOU CAN FIND. MONAURAL OUTNUMBERED STEREO BY A TEN TO ONE RATIO, AND FOR THE POP MARKET, THAT NUMBER MAY BE QUITE LITERALLY 100 TO 1, FOR SO FEW WERE PRESSED.
