  DESCRIPTION
(ACTUAL IMAGES)

THE UNIQUE TWO-DISC EXTENDED PLAY FORMAT SELECTED FOR "MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR" WAS NOT CONCEIVED UNTIL EARLY NOVEMBER 1967. ULTIMATELY, IT WAS DECIDED TO RELEASE A SINGLE WITH "HELLO GOODBYE"  B/W  "I AM THE WALRUS" ON NOVEMBER 24, AND FOLLOW IT TWO WEEKS LATER ON DECEMBER 8 WITH A TWO-EP SET WITH EACH DISC HAVING TWO SONGS ON ONE SIDE AND ONE ON THE OTHER.

THE TWO DISCS WERE PACKAGED IN AN ELABORATE 32-PAGE BOOK, COUNTING THE FRONT AND BACK COVERS AS FOUR PAGES PLUS A 24-PAGE BOOKLET, PLUS FOUR LIGHT BLUE PAGES IN THE CENTER SPREAD CONTAINING SONG LYRICS (LATER ISSUES HAD LILAC AND YELLOW SONG LYRIC SHEETS, RESPECTIVELY).

FAB 4 COLLECTIBLES IS MOST PROUD TO OFFER THIS ABSOLUTELY STUNNING MINT "AS NEW" FIRST PRESSING STEREO ISSUE OF THE TWO-DISC EXTENDED PLAY SET OF "MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR" - EMANATING DIRECTLY OUT OF AN  ORIGINAL 1967 FACTORY FRESH GARROD & LOFTHOUSE SHIPPING BOX OF TWENTY OF THE EP SETS (SEE FINAL THREE IMAGES BELOW).

THIS VERY FIRST ISSUE GARROD & LOFTHOUSE LTD. PRINTED LAMINATED, GATEFOLD COVER IS IN STUNNING "AS NEW" FACTORY FRESH  MINT CONDITION WITH FULL DEEP GLOSSY LAMINATION AND WITH A BEAUTIFUL SPINE AND EDGES . NO SPINE OR EDGE WEAR.  IT IS FRESH OUT THE BOX.  THE CENTER-FOLD BLUE LYRIC SHEET HAS CLEAN STAPLES WITHOUT ANY TRACE OF OXIDATION. IT IS OBVIOUS THE COVER HAS NOT BEEN FULLY EXTENDED OPEN.

THE TWO RECORDS ARE FIRST PRESSINGS DICTATED BY THE 'GRAMOPHONE'' PERIMETER PRINT AND "SOLD IN U.K." TEXT. ACCORDING TO AUTHOR BRUCE SPIZER IN HIS WONDERFUL BOOK "BEATLES FOR SALE ON PARLOPHONE RECORDS", HE NOTES THAT MISMATCHED LABELS ARE FAIRLY COMMON FOR THE STEREO SETS OF "MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR", AND THIS SET BEING OFFERED HERE IS EVIDENT OF THAT AND HAS THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS. RECORD 1 HAS THE PUBLISHING CREDITS IN SMALL PRINT ON THREE LINES, AND THE TITLE OF THE FILM IS PRINTED IN BOTH UPPER AND LOWER CASE FONTS (PARSMMT.SR1A, SPIZER).  RECORD 2 HAS THE PUBLISHING CREDITS IN TALL THIN  PRINT ON TWO LINES, AND THE TITLE OF THE FILM IS PRINTED IN ALL UPPER CASE FONTS (PARSMMT.SR1B, SPIZER).

BOTH DISCS AND LABELS ARE IN MINT, FACTORY FRESH, UNPLAYED CONDITION - AND ONLY JUST OPENED AND REMOVED FROM THE 1967 SHIPPING BOX. THERE IS A RAISED "KT" TAX CODE STAMPED ON THE CENTER OF THE LABELS ON SIDES 1 AND  3. THE MATRIX NUMBERS AND STAMPERS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
SIDE 1: 7YCE 18435-1 / STAMPERS: 6 LR KT
SIDE 2: 7YCE 18434-2 / STAMPERS: 1 PD KT
SIDE 3: 7YCE 18436-1 / STAMPERS: 10 HG KT
SIDE 4: 7YCE 18437-1 / STAMPERS: 3 AA KT.

THE ORIGINAL WHITE "WAVY" TOP DIE CUT INNER DUST SLEEVES ARE IN MINT CONDITION AND BOTH VARIATIONS ARE SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT. ONE HAS A SIDE AND BOTTOM FOLD, WHILE THE OTHER HAS TWO SIDE FOLDS. SINCE THE DISCS ARE PRESSED SEPARATELY, THE FACTORY USED SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT STOCK ON EACH MACHINE.
